New program commited to excellence
While the DISC Financial Engineering program is new and still developing, the staff are committed to developing an excellent program. The professors, assistants, and DISC program managers continue to improve the system and curriculum utilizing feedback from students. Any questions, comments, and concerns are quickly addressed. Every problem I have encountered has been solved quickly. I have received more assistance from the staff than I expected from a distance program. The flexibility offered by the program goes beyond most distance programs by adjusting courses and assignments to meet the demands of working adults. The only negative aspect of this program is how new it is, which causes some issues to arise and the occasional problem needing to be solved. However, as stated above, the staff quickly solve problems and efficiently work out solutions to an issues. An example would be when the textbook and exercises had not been uploaded by the beginning of the term. I contacted the staff and it was discovered that I couldn't see the textbook due to technological issues and I was able to retrieve the material soon after my initial communication.
I believe this program will continue to improve until it is an internationally competitive financial engineering program.
