Eine Enttäuschung
Intercultural Management

Ich habe mir gleichzeitig zum Studium das Buch "The Culture Map" von Erin Meyer bestellt und musste feststellen, dass 70% der Inhalte einfach aus dem 200-seitigen Buch übernommen wurden. Eins zu eins. In jedem Booklet werden die gleichen Grafiken gezeigt (z.B. High Context vs. Low Context) und Definitionen werden 4-5x wiederholt. Pro Modul habe ich bisher grob geschätzt 20% neue Inhalte gelernt, der Rest bestand aus Inhalten der vorangegangenen Module.
Die Seminare sind nicht anspruchsvoll und man bekommt praktisch fürs nichts-tun gute Noten. Das ist leider ganz und gar nicht mein Anspruch, ich habe das Studium angefangen um etwas zu lernen und nicht um 10k€ aus dem Fenster zu werfen. Für mich daher eine herbe Enttäuschung und ich würde diesen Studiengang und basierend auf meinen Erfahrungen vermutlich auch die ganze Euro FH nicht weiterempfehlen.

We are sorry to hear that you are not satisfied with your studies. Although it appears that you have only recently begun the program, we carefully considered your inputs regarding our study materials. All our materials encourage students to consult research from major scholars, and there are references to them in the booklets. This includes Meyer’s Cultural Mapping Model. However, the reference to the model is one of many, and does not contain more than one or two citations from her book. Your accusation of our materials being a ‘one to one’ version of the Meyers book is simply false and cannot be sustained. We would be interested to see exactly where you find such a connection, since we take our work and our research integrity very seriously.
Regarding your complaint that the modules are repetitive, we clearly outline at the beginning of our study program (and in the Introductory Seminar) that the first three modules build upon one another in a way that strengthens our students’ understanding of cultural studies in general, and intercultural interaction specifically. From there, the program branches into multiple management-related domains. As it is imperative to have a strong basis for the management courses, we stress certain models and approaches in our first three fundamental modules.
Again, we are sorry that you are unsatisfied with your program modules up to this point. As the Euro-FH has always said (and is explained in the Introductory Seminar), you are very welcome to contact your tutors and/or program director to request any additional clarifications, receive articles or other study-related input, or to simply ask questions relating to your study materials.
